Join us as we play and connect with new friends and Mother Earth through Nature Awareness games, ancestral crafts and primitive skills, learning edible and medicinal plants, medicine making, and sharing our hearts through song, play, council circles and simple earth based rituals.
This winter and spring as we will make paper mâché plant spirit masks and create a mythic play together. Each girls will get to know her plant in a myriad of ways and complete the program with new human friends and a life long plant friend as well.
We will play creative games that awaken our senses and hone our tracking and stalking and listening skills. We will be learning to work and play together in community through team building and creative and artistic activities that deepen our sisterhood and we thinking.

our program uses these major elements and may include some of the below mentioned activities.
Earth Skills: friction fire, cordage, pottery, shelter, wild edible and medicinal plants, herbalism, tracking, bird language, sensory awareness activities
Community Building: Storytelling, Council, Singing, Dancing, Nature Connection Games, Community Service, Leadership Projects
Plant and Animal Communication: through listening and observation
Creativity: group mandalas, safe earthen body paint, natural jewelry making, weaving in nature
Meet our Nature Sisters Winter/Spring Series Lead Facilitator:
Kristiana is a passionate educator who delights in helping children connect to themselves, each other and the earth. Born and raised in central North Carolina, Kristiana was raised in a quaker school community that modeled progressive, earth-based, child-centered education. Pursing her love of creativity and nature, she graduated from Oberlin College with a degree in Environmental Studies and a degree in Studio Art. Then she went on to receive a Masters in Education from Bank Street College, a highly respected progressive school and think-tank for education in Manhattan. She worked as a teacher for many years in private, public and charter schools, then moved to Asheville and started an organic cotton clothing company called Love Your Bodywear. She currently lives on a homestead in Barnardsville, runs her clothing company, help organize musical connection retreats with an organization called Awakening Harmony, and teaches children at Earthskills gatherings. She loves art, music, nature-connection, and community building, and is excited to share her gifts with Earth Path Education.
