A week of empowerment, deep nature connection, and playful creativity

Nature Sisters Day Camp is one of our most beloved gatherings—a week of empowerment, deep nature connection, and playful creativity. Through games, art, song, and elemental practices, girls are invited to discover their strength, confidence, and joy while forming lasting bonds of sisterhood.

At Earth Path Education, camp is our favorite time of the year, and we hope you and your children are as excited as your Nature Connection Guides. We are thrilled to gather at Kingfisher Waters in Candler, NC for an incredible week of learning new skills, playing, singing, and growing together in joyful community.

Why Deep Nature Connection Matters for Children

Children are wired for relationship with the natural world. When given time, freedom, and guidance in nature, something essential awakens—confidence, curiosity, emotional resilience, and a deep sense of belonging.

Deep nature connection supports children in:

  • Developing emotional resilience and nervous system regulation

  • Strengthening focus, imagination, and problem-solving skills

  • Building confidence through embodied experience rather than comparison

  • Cultivating empathy, stewardship, and respect for life

  • Remembering they belong—to themselves, to community, and to the Earth

In a world that often pulls children indoors and onto screens, nature offers a regulating rhythm. Creek play, climbing trees, making fires, creating with natural materials, and moving freely outdoors help children settle into their bodies. From this place, learning becomes joyful, relationships deepen, and self-trust grows.

At Nature Sisters, deep nature connection isn’t an add-on—it’s the foundation. The land becomes a co-teacher, offering lessons in patience, adaptability, cooperation, and care that support children now and for years to come.

A Vision Born in the Creek

Nature Sisters came to me one summer afternoon while playing in the creek—building fires, courting beautiful art from the Earth, running, climbing trees, dancing, and simply being together as girls in nature.

It became clear:

They aren’t Tomboys. They are Nature Girls.Nature Sisters, to be exact.

Growing up, I was often labeled a “Tom Boy”—muddy knees, tree-climbing, creek-loving, always outside. I still hear this term used to describe girls who love the Earth, movement, and exploration.

But why should a girl who embodies her love for the natural world be defined by not being feminine?

Girls who love nature aren’t “Tom Boys.”They are Earth-connected girls. And truthfully—we are all Earth people.

Nature Sisters reclaims this knowing. It offers girls permission to stay close to the Earth, to their bodies, to curiosity, strength, tenderness, and joy—without needing to be anything other than who they are.

Daily Rhythms & Living Practices

Each morning, we begin our day by harvesting and preparing an herbal tea from the land, learning directly from the plants as allies and teachers. This simple ritual grounds the group, builds plant knowledge, and creates a shared rhythm of care and presence.

Throughout the week, Nature Sisters are also invited into relationship with an Animal Totem—an animal ally they listen to, create with, and learn from through story, art, movement, and time outdoors. For some girls, this relationship continues long after camp, becoming a trusted companion for years or even a lifetime.

Earthy song and dance are woven throughout our days as joyful, embodied practices—helping girls express themselves, move energy, and deepen connection with one another and the living world.

A Living Village

Nature Sisters is a highlight of my year. I’m now blessed to share this experience with my daughter and nieces, as well as a growing circle of girls I have the honor of mentoring as a Village Auntie.

In recent years, Nature Sisters has sold out with a waiting list, often with little to no promotion. If you feel the call, I encourage you to register early to reserve your spot.

I hope your daughter can join the fun.
