Beloved Mothers of Daughters and Daughters of Mothers, let us gather to hold the fire of love strong in our bonds and burning bright in our homes.

I am so excited to invite you into our Moon Daughters Gathering— a tender, creative, heart-opening weekend for mothers and daughters to step into a circle of story, ceremony, and art together.

Over the years, so many of you have written asking, “When will the mother–daughter offerings return?”

Thank you for your patience, your encouragement, and your steady love of this work. I’m grateful to be bringing this program back which I have loved offering for over 10 years.

This season, we’ll be returning to one of the most cherished traditions of feminine folk magic:

Earth Spirit Dolls.

I’ve been making dolls since I was a small child — weaving bits of cloth, sticks, roots, feathers, and imagination into beings that held stories, energy, comfort, and strength. Recently in Taos, I was deeply inspired by an artist Raphael Vega whose dolls carried a truly shamanic presence… and it awakened a new layer of creativity I’m excited to share with you and your daughters.

A little about Raphael Vega (Taino Artist) (Doll Above and Below) from the Taos News

Artistic expression and energy transformation are one and the same in Raphael Vega's shamanistic world view. He believes that shamanism originally gave birth to dance, music, singing, performance, ceramics, sculpture, painting and all other forms of art seen in the world.

Vega creates shamanistic sculptures, or "dolls," from found objects and precious collectibles, located on his trips around the world, from his family home in Puerto Rico, to his hometown of New York, to far-flung locales in Mexico, Peru, Thailand, Africa, Guatemala and Panama, among others.

You'll notice the coronas - the crowns, the headdresses, the horns, If they had coronas, crowns, it meant they were receiving a power, that it was emanating from their heads, their bodies, and being transformed there."

 What We’ll Explore

Throughout our weekend together (with all meals and materials lovingly provided), we will slow down and enter a world of:

• Earth-based crafting with natural fibers, branches, seeds, wool, and found treasures

• Ancestral story work and mother–daughter bonding

• Guided creative practice that awakens intuition and deep listening

• Mythic journeying through two potent stories:

• Fox Woman Dreaming — a myth that reminds us to keep our wildness intact and trust our instinctive, feral wisdom

• Vasalisa — the tale of intuition, courage, and the guiding doll who leads us back to intuitive knowing

Each mother–daughter pair will create their own Earth Spirit Dolls, infused with story, prayers, beauty, and the unique energy of your bond.

When mothers and daughters create together, something ancient reawakens…

Belonging.

Connection.

The knowing that “our hands help shape our world.”

This retreat invites you to:

• laugh together

• listen deeply

• share stories

• craft meaning with your hands

• nurture the threads of your relationship

This gathering is warm, intimate, and deeply connective — a place where girls feel seen, and mothers feel nourished in the simple magic of gathering and making something sacred together.

P.S. While this retreat is designed primarily for mother–daughter pairs, a grandmother–granddaughter pair is also warmly welcome if that is the bond you are tending.

The weekend is all-inclusive and includes private-room lodging at Earth Song, nourishing Ayurvedic-inspired meals, and all materials for our featured art project: shamanic power dolls made with clay, wool, driftwood, shells, fabric, beads, feathers, and natural treasures gathered from the land. These dolls become symbolic guardians of intuition, creativity, and inner strength.

Throughout the weekend, we will weave story, nature connection, ritual, and creativity:

Explore the myth of Vassalisa the Wise

A feminine story that helps us map and understand how to listen to our intuition, trust our inner light, and cultivate courage.

Create shamanic power dolls

A hands-on artistic process where each girl and mother creates a one-of-a-kind doll as a representation of intuition and personal strength.

Fire and elemental rituals

We will learn to build and tend fire, honor the elements, and work with the theme of tending the hearth – the home, the center, the heart.

Nature awareness and connection games

Fun, playful activities that build trust, presence, and a sense of shared adventure between mothers and daughters.

Mother–daughter bonding practices

Guided exercises and reflections to strengthen communication, deepen trust, and create lasting memories.

Nourishment for body and spirit

Healing meals and herbal teas, temple of time, creativity, storytelling, and gentle winter rhythms.

Who This Retreat Is For

This retreat is ideal for families who want to strengthen their mother–daughter bond, support a girl through her next stage of emotional or developmental growth, and simply enjoy a meaningful weekend of creativity, nature, ritual, and togetherness in an intimate community-supported environment.

Tuition and Registration

Tuition is $1,200 per mother–daughter pair, which includes lodging, meals, programming, and all materials.

Space is limited to five pairs (and now only space for 2 more pairs) to create an intimate and well-supported experience.
